About Microsoft Intune

Cloud endpoint management for Windows, macOS, iOS and Android, tied into Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365.

Microsoft Intune is Microsoft's cloud service for managing devices and apps. It enrolls Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices, pushes configuration profiles and apps, enforces compliance rules, and works with Microsoft Entra ID so that only compliant devices can sign in to company resources.

IT teams use it to set up new laptops with Windows Autopilot straight from the box, deploy updates on a schedule, protect company data in mobile apps without fully managing personal phones, and wipe a lost device. Microsoft has been adding Copilot features to the Intune admin center for explaining settings and helping with troubleshooting.

It fits organizations already on Microsoft 365, and many business plans include it. Check which features need add-on licenses, and plan for the Mac and mobile side carefully if most of your fleet is Apple, where some teams pair it with an Apple-focused tool.
